Supplies and Devices

School Supplies for SY2023–24

We ask that students come to school each day prepared with necessary supplies, a positive attitude, and readiness to learn! Here are the school supplies students will need this year:

School-Issued Supplies

  • Device (Microsoft Surface or similar, to be issued mid-September)
  • Binder that zips to hold their school-issued device. Students will be expected to carry this binder and their device to all classes, use it to maintain their work portfolio, and keep it organized throughout the year.

Individual Student Supplies
  • 1 – backpack (to be stored in locker during the day)
  • 1 – set of plug-in headphones/ear buds for computer with 3.5mm (standard) jack (noise canceling recommended, not required)

Additional Items Requested for School-Wide Use

  • Clorox/Lysol Wipes
  • Hand Sanitizer
  • Markers
  • Pencils
  • Dry Erase Markers
  • Dry Eraser

Students may decorate lockers with magnetic items only. If students place stickers or other items in the lockers, they will be responsible for removing all adhesive or repairing damage if applicable at the end of the year. Students should not bring all supplies on the first day. Lockers will be assigned in the first weeks of school and we will start having students bring materials as needed gradually.

Teachers may have additional recommended supplies for their individual classes; students will receive more information about these materials in their classes.

If your family needs confidential support with obtaining school supplies, please reach out to Connected Schools Manager Lena Heid.

DCPS-issued Technology Devices

Each student will be have a DCPS-issued Microsoft Surface this year for use at school and at home. Devices will be issued after beginning-of-year assessments are completed in mid-September and are collected to be prepared for schoolwide PARCC testing in late April.

  • Students are responsible for the care of their personal device and charger.
  • Students should not loan their device to another student.
  • Students are expected to have their school-issued device in class daily. Devices will be used during class and for assessments.
  • At the beginning of the year, students will complete a Digital Citizenship course and learn the proper care for technology devices. Every student must have a signed Technology Agreement Form on file in the office.

If you have questions about technology use agreements or student devices, please contact the main office.
