At Eliot-Hine Middle School, we work to make sure every student feels loved, challenged, and prepared to positively influence society and thrive in life. In School Year 2017-2018, Eliot-Hine Middle School’s leaders and staff are focused on four big areas:
- Social Emotional Learning: This school year, we will enhance students’ ability to manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions. We will increase student satisfaction to 70 percent.
- Literacy: By the end of the school year, all English Language Arts and Social Studies teachers will include a “read aloud” strategy in their planning and delivery to improve student reading comprehension and fluency. One of our goals is to increase the number of students who meet or exceed our growth target to 80 percent.
- Math: Through strategic lesson planning, we will increase the number of students who score on or above grade level.
- Extra Support for Students: We will implement a social emotional learning team to reduce the number of students identified as off-track. By the end of the third term, at least 20 percent of students identified as off-track will have made progress and had at least one home visit from Flamboyan.
