Uniform Policy

Our uniform policy contributes to the positive school culture of Eliot-Hine. The expectation is that students are in complete uniform daily. We want to create a school community based on academics and students' strengths with limited distractions. 

6th Grade Uniform Expectations

  • Hunter Green tops
  • Khaki bottoms
  • Closed-toe shoes
  • Belts (if necessary)
  • NOT permitted: makeup, lipstick, hair bonnets, denim pants, open-toe shoes, hats of any kind

7th Grade Uniform Expectations

  • Navy Blue tops
  • Khaki bottoms
  • Closed-toe shoes
  • Belts (if necessary)
  • NOT permitted: makeup, lipstick, hair bonnets, denim pants, open-toe shoes, hats of any kind

8th Grade Uniform Expectations

  • Burgundy tops
  • Khaki bottoms
  • Closed-toe shoes
  • Belts (if necessary)
  • NOT permitted: makeup, lipstick, hair bonnets, denim pants, open-toe shoes, hats of any kind


The consequences of the uniform policy are below. A loaner uniform will be issued in exchange for the student’s DC ONE card and returned when uniform is returned.

1st Offense

  • Parent will be notified
  • Loaner uniform will be rented by student (if available) and returned at the end of the day

2nd Offense

  • Parent will be notified and a meeting with the Principal will be scheduled
  • Student will serve lunch detention the day of the offense
  • Loaner uniform will be rented by student (if available) and returned at the end of the day

 

 

3rd Offense

  • Parent will be notified and a meeting with the Principal will be scheduled
  • Student will serve after school detention the following day
  • Loaner uniform will be rented by student (if available) and returned at the end of the day
  • Repeat offenses will result in additional consequences including suspension.
